11 Best Spells In Sun Haven, Ranked

If you live a life of adventure in a world where magic helps you, don’t you want the best ones?

Welcome to Sun Haven, a magical and mysterious place where magic spells are as common as the sun. Since the indie farming game has RPG elements, you can get more skills and useful spells as you earn experience points by doing different jobs. There is a spell for just about everything, from useful ones for farming to strong ones for killing enemies.

The mix of magical fantasy and farming simulator in Sun Haven works well, making you want to come back for another in-game day to get better. But since there are so many spells and skills, you’ll need to know which ones are the best before you spend all your hard-earned points on them.

Ethereal Axe

The Exploration tree has a spell called “Ethereal Axe” that you can learn. When the spell is cast, it calls forth a ghostly axe that swings in an arc, hurting trees and enemies (if they ever fix them). The power and mana cost of the Ethereal Axe get better up to three tiers, and it can even cut through harder trees like Hardwood.

The problem is that the Ethereal Axe isn’t worth the high amount of mana it costs, especially when you think about how far apart the trees outside your farm grow. It’s much better to focus on making a better axe and learning other skills for cutting down trees.

Earthquake

Earthquake can be unlocked further down the Farming tree. When you till 25 squares of tiles on your farm, you’ll shake the ground with all your might. You can save a lot of time preparing the land for seeds by spending a lot of power.

Earthquake isn’t a bad spell because it does what it’s supposed to do. But that’s all it does. It doesn’t do anything else that would make the spell more useful. It can’t help you clean up your farm because it leaves weeds and rocks alone, and it can’t be used to throw off your enemies in battle. Even so, it’s a great spell for the one thing it does.

Fireball

The trusty Fireball is the first thing a mage learns to do. Fireball is unlocked at the first level of the Combat tree. It fires a ball of fire that does damage and keeps burning for a few seconds after hitting something. It also gets stronger if your spell damage gets better.

Fireball is a good way to fight most monsters in the game without spending much money. But against bosses, the long time it takes to cast can put you in a dangerous spot.

Chain Lightning

Use the Chain Lightning spell, which you can get from the fifth level of the Combat tree, to channel your inner Palpatine and shoot lightning from your fingers. Chain Lightning does a little more damage than Fireball, but it can also jump to close enemies.

Once they see you, Sun Haven’s regular enemies only think about one thing: getting to you. They run at you in groups without caring if they can make it. Chain Lightning are great for farming monster parts because they are easy to use.

Firebeam

If you’ve ever wanted to use a powerful Kamehameha attack against 2D sprites in a farming simulator game, Sun Haven has you covered. For a lot of your power, you can send out a huge fire beam that destroys all enemies in its path. It never gets old to win over enemies on your way to fall in love with someone from the town.

But Firebeam isn’t as good at killing bosses as you think it is because it costs a lot of mana and does only moderate damage, even with armour and skill boosts. It’s a very useless trick, but it’s also a lot of fun. If you want to max out your points, you could skip this.

Cataclysm

When you cast Cataclysm, you turn into your best Sonic version and become a spinning ball of death that does a lot of damage to enemies, just like a boss you fight in the caves. The spell also gives you extra movement speed, so you can move at lightning speed towards enemies.

Cataclysm goes well with a melee-focused build because you can use it to instantly engage and disengage. Also, the speed burst gives you more options for getting around the world.

Aegis

At the end of the Combat tree, you can learn the Aegis power. As one of the last improvements, it doesn’t fall short. For almost no mana, Aegis gives every good player on the map a five-minute buff that gives them more armour and heals their health. When you cast this spell, your friends will thank you.

The bosses in Sun Haven are surprisingly hard, and the extra defence will help players a lot. The only bad thing about it is that by the time you get it, you may only have a few bosses left to fight.

Bubble Net

In farming sims, fishing minigames are always hit or miss. Some people may find it relaxing to wait for a fish to bite and then work hard to reel it in, while others may find it stressful. Since it’s an RPG, you can specialise in skills to make it easier or more profitable, or even use fishing nets to do it for you.

Bubble Net makes fishing even easier because it casts a spell that grabs every fish it passes. Once you start levelling up all the bonuses in the Fishing tree, you’ll be able to make a lot of cash from fishing.

Rain Cloud

Don’t worry about watering the veggies on a whole farm one by one. You’ll be able to use the Rain Cloud power from the Farming tree at some point. If you learn the magic, you can call your own rain cloud to water crops over a large area, which is important if you want to make your farm more productive.

Since there are no sprinklers or other automatic watering systems, Rain Cloud is a must-have spell for saving a lot of time watering crops. You’ll want to get your hands on this spell as soon as you can.

Vacuumulus

Mining is a very boring thing to do. People might not like the idea of going deeper into chasms to slowly mine for ore and fight off monsters. Penalty Kick Online solves this problem by giving you a spell that sends out a strong shockwave near you, exploding all stones, ores, and enemies with a satisfying crunch.

The place to find Vacuumulus is in the middle of the digging tree. You should go straight for this spell by putting all your mining experience towards it, since you’ll be able to fly through the mines and make better tools and armour as a result.

Air Skip

With all the moving around you have to do for quests and romances, you need to be able to move quickly if you want to still have time to farm. With the Air Skip spell, you can dash through the air to move faster. The best part is that once you get one point in the Exploration tree, you can use the Air Skip spell.

Until you get a mount, Air Skip will be your main way to move around. Even then, you’ll still need to move faster inside, like in houses or caves. It’s such an important spell because without it, you’ll feel slow.
